Abstract
In this presentation, Bhabendra will introduce NanoHoldings and give an overview of some technologies from their portfolio companies and their applications to green buildings. He will specifically discuss four of their portfolio companies - nSolGel (environmentally friendly cement subsitutes), nRadiance Composite Systems (electrochromic windows), PureLux (White LED) and Paramata (structural health monitoring) and collaborative opportunities they would like to explore in these areas.
About the speaker
Dr. Bhabendra Pradhan, CSO, NanoHoldings LLC. Bhabendra has 15 years of extensive experience in research and business development of nano and alternative energy technologies. Prior to joining NanoHoldings, Bhabendra was the Founder and Principal at Smart Materials LLC, a solution provider for nanotechnology and new business development. He was also the Director of Technology (Nanomaterials and Fuel Cell Materials) at Columbian Chemicals Company where he established a new startup business and designed and developed a cost competitive mass production process for nanomaterials with superior product performance. Before joining the industry, Bhabendra spent more than 3 years as a senior research associate at the Pennsylvania State University and 2 years as an institute researcher at Tohoku University, Japan. At both institutions, he focused on research and design of carbon nanotube production. Bhabendra obtained both his B.Sc and M.Sc from Sambalpur University and his Ph.D from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, all in Chemistry. He also graduated from the Management Development Program and the Technology Management Program from the Georgia Institute of Technology and the California Institute of Technology respectively.
